Afghan children face alarming malnutrition as aid cuts and crisis deepen

In Afghanistan, 2.3 million children are severely malnourished - an alarming rate which has been exacerbated by aid cuts, and the country's economic collapse. According to UNICEF, 50% of children under 5 currently face stunted growth. Maternal malnutrition also means nearly half of pregnant women are anaemic. This food insecurity has only been worsened by recent climate shocks and cuts of global funding In remote, rural areas, the situation is worsening.
