Israeli raids, settlements eliminating any chance for a Palestinian state: Mustafa Barghouti

Israel is pressing ahead with the construction of more than 3,400 illegal settlement units. Once built, the settlement would cut deeper into the territory, undermining any chance for a single, unified Palestinian state. In Ramallah, Israeli forces have been raiding foreign exchange businesses, accusing them of funding armed groups. In occupied East Jerusalem, far-right Israelis – including cabinet ministers – have repeatedly made incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, which violates the status quo. Earlier this year, the Israel military launched a major offensive in refugee camps in the occupied West Bank. More than 40,000 Palestinians were forced from their homes. Mustafa Barghouti is the Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative. He says Israel appears to be using the attack as an excuse to conduct more raids in the occupied West Bank.
