Northern Mozambique violence: Camps struggle with influx of traumatised children

قناة Al Jazeera לפני 1 שבוע דווח

Children in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado have been separated from their families by ISIL-linked Al Shabab fighters. Unicef reports a rise in child killings and abductions, with many recruited or exploited by armed groups. In Megaruma camp, families build makeshift homes, while new arrivals often sleep outside for safety. Children face forced labour, carrying looted goods, and forced marriages under armed group control. Aid workers provide psychological support, but fear of renewed attacks remains constant.
